My Last Holiday

My last holiday was in Brisbane last December. I went there with my lovely husband. We went there by plane. We caught the plane at Sydney airport at 8’oclock in the morning and arrived in Brisbane airport at 8.45am. It took us only 45 minutes to take us to Brisbane. Then we caught a taxi to reach our hotel. Our hotel was in the heart of the city. I liked the hotel and specially the room. There was a nice city view form my hotel window.

After that time we came out of the hotel to see the city. Then we visited the Rain forest inside the Botanical Garden, the city wheel, the museum, the Brisbane River and lots of places. There was a small Fair in the front of the River, the Fair was very nice and so many people are coming to visit the Fair. I liked it and I bought some thing for me and for my husband.
There was a swimming pool which looked like an artificial sea beach, I loved it! There were so many people and children were swimming in the pool. We also swam in the pool. Then we had lunch and we came back our hotel.

In the evening we caught the city cat to see the Brisbane River, we saw the River form First stop to the last stop, and it was amazing. After that we walked in the Riverside footpath which was so nice. Then we had our dinner and came back our hotel.

Next day we went to Queen Street. I loved that place because there were so many shops like women’s wear, men’s wear, footwear and more. I shopped for me and for my husband. There was a stage in front of the Queen Street; there were dances and performances by school girls and boys that were excellent. There was also a group called Jim Boys which came from Africa, they danced, made fun, performed and lot a more. We all of us really enjoyed it.

We spent one week in the Brisbane. We also went to the Gold Coast by Train. It was fantastic. It was a really charming holiday for my husband and me.

My first day in Australia

My first day in Australia was 6th of July 2005. My lovely husband was with me in the journey. I was very excited to be in a new country.

Some of my friends were waiting in the airport to receive us. They brought flowers for us. They gave us a very warm welcome. We were really very happy to see them after long time. There were too.

My friends had rented a unit for us in Kogarah. They brought us to the new unit direct form the airport. Then I looked around my new unit and it was really nice. I was feeling so tired and hungry that I needed to freshen up myself so I went to the bath and had a long shower. Then my friends took us to their home to have dinner. During the dinner we talked about our family and friends in our country. We finished our dinner and went back to our unit.

In the mean time we learnt something about Australia from our friends. They gave us some general advice about Australian culture and society. I went to bed with too much tiredness and a determination to make myself adjast to my new country.
